ACT group - incubator for impact enterprises

Provided by: unidu

Background and Context:
ACT Group is a leading Croatian support organization for socially responsible enterprises. It was established to empower mission-driven MSMEs, particularly in rural and economically disadvantaged areas. Over the years, it has evolved into a full-service incubator offering training, mentoring, and access to tailored financial instruments.
Problem Addressed:
Many rural MSMEs lack business skills, struggle to secure finance, and face difficulties attracting and retaining employees. Traditional incubators often neglect the social impact dimension, while well-being and inclusive employment practices remain underdeveloped.
Solution/Initiative Implemented:
ACT Group created a blended incubation model focused on both business growth and employee well-being. Services include:
•    Personalised mentoring for founders
•    Financial planning and access to impact investors
•    Workshops on sustainable HR and team culture
•    Peer-to-peer learning among supported enterprises
Measurable Results and Transferability Potential:
Over 250 MSMEs supported, 60% of which operate in rural areas. Beneficiary firms report improved financial sustainability and better employee retention. The model has high transferability potential for regions with emerging social enterprise ecosystems and limited public support.
